Holy Trinity Stitching Group
The Holy Trinity Stitching Group started in 2004 and made needlepoint kneelers for the communion rail in the Marler Chapel. We meet in church on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons between 2 and 4pm.
Our current project is five long kneelers for the communion rail at the high altar to replace the old blue velvet ones. We have copied the vine leaf pattern from one of the tiles on the sanctuary floor.
At present we have seven regular stitchers, but not all come to every session. In any case, we can only get six people round the frame at a time! We enjoy each other's company and talking to visitors who come into church. We try to encourage them to have a go and we keep a list of everyone who has helped us. Many say that they will return to see the finished product, and we hope that they do.
