Summary of the PCC meeting 30th January 2012

A list of names of people to be authorised to administer the sacraments at Eucharistic Services and administer Home Communion to the sick was approved. The PCC secretary will now pass the list to the Bishop for his approval.

 

The PCC agreed to allow the Cathedral to use the church as an overflow venue for the 50th anniversary service of the new Cathedral’s consecration, to be held on the afternoon of Friday May 25th 2012.

 

Most of the evening was spent looking at how we as individuals support the work of God, particularly at Holy Trinity. Graham Wright, Diocesan Stewardship Advisor, spoke and answered questions around the whole topic. He thought that an individual’s support could be broadly split into time, money and talents. He thought the starting point was for individuals to prayerfully consider their support of Holy Trinity.

 

The PCC agreed to form a small group that would, over the next year, focus on ways of helping congregation members discern what their own level of support for the work of Holy Trinity should be.

 

I informed the PCC that I wished to resign as PCC secretary, the latest meeting I will attend is 25th June. I also wish to relinquish Electoral Roll Officer, at the latest by the 2013 APCM. The six year electoral roll renewal is due next year and will be started in autumn. If someone wishes to take over as Electoral Roll Officer from the 2012 APCM, then I am very willing to help with the administration.
